The most memorable moments from the Oscars 2019

The Oscars 2019 saw the film and entertainment industry’s finest gathered in one room to celebrate the best films from the past year.

This year’s ceremony was an unusual one, having no official host and running for three hours instead of the usual four. But it was also a memorable Oscars 2019 as Ruth E Carter became the first black woman to win the award for Best Costume Design for Black Panther. Spike Lee wore custom Air Jordan 3’s and Olivia Colman announced she would be sleeping in bed with her award.

SPIKE LEE’S CUSTOM AIR JORDAN 3’S

Spike Lee rocked up to the Oscars 2019 in a pair of custom Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” in gold. The shoes featured a custom heel logo that read “40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks”, Lee’s film company.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, who has been designing shoes for Nike since 1985. His designs include the Air Max 1 Running Shoe, the Infrared Air Max 90 Shoe and Air Jordans.

The night went from strength to strength for Spike Lee as he picked up his first Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for BlackKkKlansman, which he was a co-writer for.

PINK DRESSES DOMINATED THE RED CARPET

Pink was the colour of choice this year as the stars channelled their inner Villanelle from Killing Eve at the Academy Awards.

Crazy Rich Asian’s Gemma Chan looked pretty in pink in Maison Valentino.

Kacey Musgrave’s voluminous pink Giambattista Valli gown was to die for (even if it does look a bit like a pink loofah).

LADY GAGA

People can’t stop talking about Lady Gaga at the Oscars and neither can we. I mean we don’t have any particular Lady Gaga moment from the Oscars that we loved, because well we loved every moment!

Not only did she win an Oscar for Best Original Song, but she wore a £30m Tiffany & Co. yellow diamond necklace whilst doing it. Oh, and did we mention the necklace was last worn by Audrey Hepburn in 1961.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper also treated us to a performance of Shallow, the standout song from A Star is Born. The song just gets better every time we hear it.

And can we just take a moment to take in her Alexander McQueen gown?

BILLY PORTER WORE A DRESS

Actor Billy Porter literally ‘dressed up’ at this years Oscars 2019. Everyone is searching “Oscars man in a dress” and we too will continue to do so until next years ceremony.

We still can’t get over Billy Porter in this custom Christian Siriano tuxedo gown.

The Oscars 2019 had some amazing fashion moments which we will not be forgetting any time soon.
